Horizon Europe – Public-private partnerships

Be part of European thematic public-private partnerships

Influence European research priorities, network with key players and get access to consortia for European project proposals in fields such as health, digitalisation, climate and food.

Do you want to be part of joint European efforts to deliver on global challenges and modernise industry?

The public-private partnerships of the EU’s research and innovation programme Horizon Europe are collaborative efforts that unite the European Commission with private and/or public partners to tackle pressing challenges across Europe through joint research and innovation initiatives.

By bringing together diverse private and public stakeholders, they effectively prevent redundant investments and play a crucial role in reducing fragmentation within the EU’s research and innovation landscape.

There are two types of public-private partnerships in Horizon Europe:

  • Institutionalised Partnerships, such as the so-called Joint Undertakings, involve the EU, the member states and industries, which are implementing their own funding work programmes. Calls for proposals are still accessible through the Funding and Tenders Portal. They cover strategic value chains in Europe, such as next generation connectivity, semiconductors, high performance computing, aviation and hydrogen
  • Co-Programmed Partnerships, involving the European Commission and mostly private partners, whose research priorities are implemented through the work programmes of the Horizon Europe Clusters. They cover specific areas of research and innovation with a strong industrial interest, such as autonomous driving, artificial intelligence, robotics and process industries

We can help you determine which public-private partnerships are most relevant for your research and innovation strategy and advise on the procedure required to join.
