Sectoral seminars: Healthtech, tourism, circular economy

On 17 April, three parallel sector-specific seminars will take place, focusing on inspiring travel and meeting experiences in Luxembourg (tourism), innovative and circular construction (circular economy), and data driven innovations for disease prevention and care, creating opportunities for cross-border cooperation (healthtech).

The healthtech seminar aims to showcase healthcare data strategies and initiatives in Luxembourg and Belgium. It will also explore how patients, clinicians, researchers, companies and policymakers can contribute and support the European Health Data Space (EHDS) framework. It will be followed by B2B meetings and a networking lunch aimed at fostering Belgian-Luxembourg cooperation on scientific, technological and/or innovation domains driven by health data.

The innovative and circular construction seminar will include presentations on eco-design, digital planning, deconstruction and urban mining as well as innovative business models and circular spatial planning. A guided visit to “Gares Maritimes”, the largest timber project of Europe which focuses on hybrid timber construction coupled with innovative and multifunctional building materials, is also on the programme. The primary goal of the seminar is to improve economic links between both countries by facilitating synergies, information sharing, and valuable business contacts.

It aims to bring together Belgian and Luxembourg partners from the space, cybersecurity and defence ecosystems to highlight joint projects and seek further cooperation opportunities bringing added value to both countries. The programme also includes three sectoral workshops on Earth observation, secure communications and the protection of critical space assets.

On 17 April, a visit to the imec headquarters in Leuven and a seminar on land capabilities in defence is envisaged.
